COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
1) SHITPOSTING: "Shitposting" is an Internet slang term describing a range of user misbehaviors and rhetoric on forums and message boards that are intended to derail a conversation off-topic, including thread jacking, circlejerking and non-commercial spamming. On 4chan, the byproduct of shitposting is referred to as cancer.
2) PORNOGRAPHY: In alignment with the Disqus Terms of Service, images and videos containing pornographic content is not appropriate at IFP and is not permitted. Pornography is defined as any graphic content showing genitalia, and/or acts of sex. Pornographic images may be deleted on sight, or posters of questionable content will be asked to remove the image in question as a first step. Subsequent measures may include a 3-day time-out (ban), permanent ban, and/or deletion of the thread affected by the same. Pornographic images will be deleted on sight.
3) TARGETED HARASSMENT: Since our commenting engine is primarily Disqus, Targeted Harassment will be considered on a very acute scale, and in alignment to Disqus Terms of Service.
4) WEBSITE PROMOTION & SPAM: Disqus encourages cross-channel promotion by CPs in the form of a link to another Disqus Channel or Site that is visible in a user’s profile. All other forms of cross-channel promotion will be considered SPAM unless expressly permitted by a Moderator.
5) SPIRIT: We believe in the spirit of Free Speech. Holding up a black sign in front of someone else’s protest sign is censorship. Using a bullhorn to drown out the Free Speech of someone else is not protected as Free Speech, but is considered censorship. Online behaviour similar in nature and intent to these is not acceptable at IFP.
6) ON-TOPIC: Should you find yourself engaged in a discussion within a News Discussion Thread, please stay as on topic as much as possible.
7) CONFLICT RESOLUTION &TIME-OUTs: Time-outs (temporary bans) will be issued for violations of the circumstances documented above. They are issued for ongoing violations of these CGs and/or Disqus Rules/TOS. Sometimes they are time-sensitive (like 24 hours or 3 days or whatever) and removed once the time is up. Other times they are issued in the hope of resolving the matter away from the public commenting boards. If a Comment Poster (CP) who is on a time-out in this case doesn’t bother to try to resolve the matter with the Moderators, then the matter remains unresolved and the CP remains on a self-imposed ban. Any CP that is “banned” from IFP can contact proffrink24@gmail.com and send us a message with a title as simple as “Why am I banned at IFP?”, and we can work at resolving the matter via email. If a CP is too proud or whatever to consider these options, then there is nothing more we can do.
Free Speech lives here!
