Justify became just the 13th horse ever to with the Triple Crown, finishing off his historic run with a win in the 2018 Belmont Stakes on Saturday. Justify led from the start and held off challengers Gronkowski and Hofburg to win the 1½-mile race in Elmont, New York.
Justify is the second Triple Crown winner in the last 40 years, and the last since American Pharoah in 2015.
“He could have won every horse on the undercard today,” trainer Bob Baffert said of Justify on the NBC broadcast. “He’s that kind of horse.”
