Off-duty police officer charged with impaired driving

A 37-year member of the Calgary Police Service has been charged with impaired driving.

Airdrie RCMP laid the charge against Staff Sergeant Rod Harbidge shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Harbidge was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Police say he will be relieved from duty, which will be reviewed within 30 days.

As the matter is now before the courts, police say no further information can be provided at this time.
