Head of Peel Regional Police Association arrested for drunk driving

The president of the Peel Regional Police Association was charged with impaired driving and stunt driving over the weekend.

Adrian Woolley, 44, of Burlington, was stopped Saturday evening for speeding on the QEW in Burlington, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.

According to his Twitter feed, Woolley was to have participated in the PRPA polar plunge fundraiser for the Special Olympics on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Brampton.

Schmidt said Woolley was charged with a blood alcohol level of plus 80.

The officer wouldn’t divulge the vehicle’s rate of speed when stopped. “That’s evidence, so I won’t comment,” he said.

When contacted, the PRPA said it didn’t have a spokesman immediately available for comment.

Peel Regional Police said they would release a statement on Woolley later Monday.
