There are plenty of contentious political issues to debate over the dinner table. We might choose to discuss local development, international trade or the economy. In the province of Ontario, the airwaves are filled with debate and contradicting information about beer sales.
Albertans could not be more united on beer sales: For over 25 years, Albertans have understood that liquor sales can be competitive, convenient, profitable and accessible without compromising safety. That’s why the Alberta system has a 90-per-cent public satisfaction rating.
But Ontario unions and The Beer Store continue to misinform the public in an effort to protect their existing monopoly, which offers Ontarians less choice and convenience.
