Montreal ticketed 42 times more cyclists than Toronto in 2018

Montreal police issued 42 times more tickets to cyclists than Toronto cops last year.

Montreal Police slapped cyclists with 12,285 tickets compared to Toronto Police issuing only 292 in 2018, according to statistics provided by the two police departments.

Montreal tops the list even when the totals are compared to six of Canada’s other largest cities tallied together.

Vancouver (380), Calgary (399), Edmonton (113), Winnipeg (114), Ottawa (180) and Toronto police services handed cyclists a combined total of 1,478 tickets in 2018.
