‘I’m going to paradise, you’re all going to hell … this is just the beginning’
THE man who supplied a gun to Sydney police worker Curtis Cheng’s killer has lashed out in explosive scenes as his lengthy jail sentence was handed down in court.
Raban Alou, 20, looked at the public gallery in the NSW Supreme Court this afternoon, made a one-fingered salute and screamed: “I’m going to paradise, you’re all going to hell … This is just the beginning!” He had also refused to stand for the judge during the sentencing.
Justice Peter Johnson ordered Corrective Services to remove Alou from the courtroom.
“This is the beginning for enemies of Islam,” Alou continued as he was led away.
The outburst came as Alou was sentenced to 44 years jail with a non-parole period of 33 years in relation to the 2015 shooting murder of police accountant Curtis Cheng. Several of Mr Cheng’s family members were present in court today.
