The Prime Minister’s crackdown on legal gun owners in Canada continues. The Liberals just introduced sweeping and expansive legislation that gives the RCMP arbitrary powers of reclassification and prohibition without parliamentary oversight.
The new law also requires deeper background checks for licensing applicants and mandates that gun stores keep a de facto registry on behalf of the government.
Trudeau tweeted:
“We are also introducing stronger and more rigorous background checks on gun sales. If you want to buy a gun by law you’ll have to show a license at the point of purchase. Right now that’s not a requirement.“
But, this is the law now, and since the PM is changing existing laws to be more “adequate”, why doesn’t he know this?
Not only should Trudeau know this but he does know this, based on statements he himself made to the Hill Times in 2011 when he said he was a gun owner.
A registered gun owner would have taken and passed the Possession and Acquisition Licensing course where one learns about the requirements to hold and present the appropriate level of license to buy guns and ammo.
How did Trudeau pass the course without knowing this? Or was he just concocting a huge story to seem like a normal, relatable person who in reality, never was a licensed gun owner at all?
