A few days ago, some sensitive information was posted on one of the commenting boards at IFP which was personal in nature and should not have been shared in a public forum. Several contributors of this channel brought this to our attention on the day of the incident and recently in various other threads.
After further review of the concerns of our Community being made pertaining to one of our administrators’ mishandling of private information, we understand that we made a mistake and we apologize. To the two individuals who were affected, we deeply regret that this breach of your trust in us occurred. We sincerely hope that you accept our apology, and we recognize that our future actions will need to speak much louder than our words.
Moving forward we intend to take the following steps to ensure your privacy is secured:
- Any commenter (CP), follower, author, editor, supporter, visitor, moderator, or administrator of this channel that possesses or obtains private information and posts it on this website without the express consent of the other party will face consequence as severe as an immediate and permanent ban from IFP.
- Update our Community Guidelines to include a zero-tolerance policy for “doxxing”.
- Address these types, or any other types of concerns and requests immediately with professionalism, understanding and mutual respect.
To our valued Community of IFP commenters (CPs), followers, authors, supporters and visitors, we wish to thank you for your continued support and hope that we can move on from this matter. We take your privacy as being of the utmost importance, and will do everything in our ability to regain any trust you may have lost in our good faith as a result of this matter.
PS. I have taken the initiative of deleting the personal information in question.
Sincerest best regards,
~Prof Frink
