Kudos to the Toronto Sun’s Joe Warmington for exposing the repugnant views of the NDP’s Mississauga Centre candidate, Laura “The Librarian” Kaminker.

For starters, Kaminker refuses to wear a poppy on Remembrance Day, and thinks anyone who does isn’t doing so to honour veterans, but because they’ve been “brainwashed.”

She’s also against pro sports teams honouring vets by asking fans to stand for an ovation, and it gets worse, because this nutter actually pondered if 9/11 really was an Al-Qaeda attack.

Kaminker was born in America but “fled” to Canada in 2003 to protest her native country’s political stance on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely she’d return to the home of the free unless Bernie Sanders was President because she’s also apparently a Marxist!

Earlier this month the PC candidate for Mississauga Centre, Tanya Granic Allen, was booted by her party for allegedly homophobic and Islamophobic remarks.

But a Marxist who hates the idea of honouring war veterans and thinks 9/11 was no biggie, well, NDP leader Andrea Horwath stands by her because freedom of speech and all that.

It’s odd that the free speech defence only pertains to certain topics, and odder still that they miss the irony that without blood spilled on battlefields by millions of soldiers, they wouldn’t have freedom of speech.
