BONOKOSKI: Justin Trudeau’s long-simmering disrespect of Doug Ford

As a statement from Ford’s office put it, “This (sudden influx) has resulted in a housing crisis and threats to the services that Ontario families depend on.

“This mess was 100% the result of the federal government, and the federal government should foot 100% of the bills.”

Well, this did not sit well with Trudeau, who then told the media that he was forced to teach Ford a thing or two because he did not fully understand Canada’s international obligation when it comes to asylum seekers but not mentioning, of course, his role in adding unexpected and therefore unbudgeted multi-millions to social service costs.

“I spent a little time explaining (to Ford) how the asylum-seeking system works and how our system is supposed to operate,” Trudeau said.

If essentially saying Ford is dumb as a post is not disrespectful, then disrespect needs a new definition.

Defenders of Trudeau will have a hard time defending this one, especially come election time with a Ford in power in Ontario.
