Later today, General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) is expected to announce the upcoming closure of a plant in Canada.

General Motors Co is set to make a major announcement on Monday that will affect its global operations, a Canadian union said in a statement on Sunday.
The statement came after a local TV news channel said GM was planning to close all operations at a plant in Oshawa, Ontario, near Toronto.
According to Reuters, the union has been informed that no product will be assigned to that plant after December 2019.
General Motors Company shares rose $0.20 (+0.56%) in premarket trading Monday. Year-to-date, GM has declined -9.71%, versus a -0.06% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period.
