Student charged in BC College ‘incendiary devices’ incident

Vancouver police say Nasradin Abdusamad Ali, 23, was arrested shortly after officers found a number of “improvised incendiary devices.”

“A suspect had allegedly entered the college with improvised incendiary devices,” reads a release from police. “It appears at least two devices were detonated, causing fires, before the suspect fled the area.”

Ali was arrested in Surrey by Metro Vancouver Transit Police just after 4 p.m. on Monday.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Constable Jason Doucette said Ali is a student at Langara College.

Ali has been charged with one count of arson in relation to inhabited property and one count of possession of incendiary material.
