Premier Doug Ford shut down any chance of a debate over abortion after one of his MPPs addressed a pro-life rally Thursday at Queen’s Park.
PC MPP Sam Oosterhoff told the rally: “We pledge to make abortion unthinkable in our lifetime.”
Later, Oosterhoff told reporters that he has never hidden his pro-life views.
Shortly after the end of question period, Ford issued a statement in which he said his party is a “big tent” but is focused on fiscal matters.
“The government will not re-open the abortion debate,” Ford said.
