Ben Shapiro: US conservative brands BBC interviewer left-wing before walking out of interview

A right-wing US commentator walked out on a BBC interview with Andrew Neil after branding the host left-wing.

Mr Shapiro, 35, clashed with the BBC presenter as they discussed abortion laws and his controversial past comments.

As they disagreed over abortion, Mr Shapiro accused the host of siding with the left, a comment which sparked derision on social media.

Mr Shapiro said: “You purport to be an objective journalist. The BBC purports to be a down the middle network. It obviously is not. It never has been.”

He added: “And you as a journalist are proceeding to call one side of the political aisle ignorant, barbaric and sending us back to the dark ages.

“Why don’t you just say that you are on the left? Is that so hard for you? Seriously, it’s a serious question.”
