An Acton man is facing multiple charges after rolling his car on Third Line in Erin.
On June 28, just before 6:00 p.m., Wellington OPP responded to a call from a witness of the single-vehicle incident, finding that the driver left the scene and went home.
After investigating, officers discovered the driver lost control of his vehicle, hitting a culvert and rolling the car. The car landed in the middle of the road.
Officers found that driver at his home and suspected him to be impaired, but he refused to provide a breath sample.
The vehicle was left in the middle of the roadway, and police suspect a passing motorist took him home.
Michael McKeon, 29, faces charges for failing to remain at the scene, failing to provide a breath sample and having an expired licence plate sticker.

At one time people were known to knock down a drink or two after an accident so Police wouldn’t know if they drank before or after.
This used to work.
I’m curious. What would stop you from just not answering the door? Especially if you know you have been drinking.
That’s what I would have done, impaired or otherwise. At that point, the police can do nothing.
We know one thing about the suspect for sure . He is definitly not a cop .
Cops don’t get charged with Impaired Driving. That’s one of their little Blue Wall Perks.
Why even go home? Go to a hotel for a day, sober up, then go home.
Thought this was going t be about one of my brothers… same type of scenario !!
But this is a new law, isn’t it?
yes..BUT… the last time my brother did, they found him about 4.5 hours later and laid the same charges….about 2 years ago now, so long before the new law.
I’ve seen things happen on the road. People take their eyes off of the road for various reasons and catch a wheel on the road edge and all hell breaks loose. I’ve pulled guys out of the ditch during the night who seemed fine to me. Just lost control. Not everyone is Paul Riddell and I’m not sure I have his name spelled right but he had this car show and he could run a car on two wheels.
…In my defence, Judge Judy started in 15 minutes.
This is what a Police State looks like.
Get stuffed. Story said it all, A-hole drunk as a skunk.
???? you were there,
Rolled the car, left it middle of the road? Cops must have smelt alcohol.
Ergo drunk. BTW; Refusing breath test same as blowing over limit.
After 2 hours though?
Yes.
It can take up to two hours for alcohol to show up in your urine after you have had a drink, and once it’s there, alcohol can be detectable for up to 12 hours. This fact means that the alcohol concentration in urine tends to lag behind the actual concentration of alcohol in the blood.Apr 10, 2019
Explains why pilots cannot take alcohol long before flying.
Good to know but I thought alcohol stayed in the body for 72 hours. Either way a good lawyer will be an asset to this moron.
Yes. Never in court without one.
Your points are all very valid, but as I said earlier, this is what a Police State looks like.
Get real. Police State? Try an dictatorship, oh Trudeau’s favorite China, remember Tiananmen Square? That’s a police State.

What, the PO Po nicked you in the past?
.
No, I’ve never been nicked because I don’t drink and drive. I just believe that Rights are paramount. Only in a Police State is refusal to provide a breath sample punished equally to driving drunk. By the way, my $100 prize still stands – anyone that can produce a news article in which a Police officer is charged with any sort of impaired driving offence as a result of a RIDE spot-check … gets my $100.
Oh, it’s not a po po state, it’s a ‘mad as hell state’ as in what the fck is wrong with you people driving while intoxicated? Won’t prove you’re not intoxicated no free passes otherwise everyone would refuse.
What about the principle of due process? Driving in Canada now means that you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent. Using impaired driving as the “good reason” for doing away with due process is just the gateway. What’ll it be next … climate change, pre-crime, terrorism, gay rights? At this point, there is nothing stopping the systematic destruction of due process. The Americans fought the Revolutionary War for exactly this reason. I hope that’s not lost on you Ross. I really mean that.
No. but senseless death due to intoxication deserves different treatment. Finally, the courts decide each case. As to your cascade of dominoes? It’s not ‘1984’.
Ok , what if he had just picked up a bottle at the local L C B O ,and something happened to cause him to roll the car, the bottle breaks and the smell of booze is strong, he left the scene because he was in shock, got home and drank about 5 ore 7 doubles after , his lawyer will try to prove that in court
Key: LAWYER. Good luck with broken bottle etcetera…
A-hole drunk , id bet. But the more overreach we allow police the more they will claim .

As i stated earlier.. my brother has done the same.. not once… not twice… but three times. Am only surprised he’s still alive and no one else dead..
