They say you can’t fight city hall, but you can fight in court what seems to be happening in a video shot on London city hall’s doorstep during a demonstration.

It’s what Ibrahim Henein, 64, tried to do in the Ontario Court of Justice Thursday at his trial for assaulting a woman with his cane as Pegida Canada, also known as Patriots of Canada Against the Islamization of the West, was demanding an apology from the mayor and council.

The charge was laid on March 14, 2017, when Pegida members demanded then-mayor Matt Brown — or “Ed Brown” as Henein called him in testimony — say sorry for associating them with white supremacists.
