“It’s been a little more than a week since the restaurant closed its doors — the first time, aside from some days around Christmas years back, that service has stopped for any meaningful length of time. The only exception was when Taylor’s mother died in 2011, and back then, the closure was just for one day, so staff could attend the funeral.
Blackfoot Diner manager Tanyia Brown said she and Taylor think a lot about what Edna Taylor would have done in the unprecedented times they’re facing.
“I think this is probably one of the hardest things (the diner) has been through,” Brown said. “And we were through the flood — it’s seen a lot.”
