CALGARY, AB: Think tank SecondStreet.org released data from Quebec’s Health Insurance Board today that shows a single patient had 362 appointments with a family doctor in 2024 – the highest in the country. The data was obtained through Freedom of Information and builds on data released by the think tank for B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. “The numbers from Quebec are astronomically high compared with data from other parts of the country,” said SecondStreet.org President Colin Craig. “The Quebec government should look into the numbers more closely and determine if there’s abuse. If there is abuse, then tackling the problem could help free up resources in the system to help other patients.” Quebec’s Top Ten Users (2024): Patient RankNumber of Appointments13622346330943005298629872978296929510295 The 2024 data also showed: Patients with 50 or more appointments: 11,586 100 or more appointments: 1,611 To view the Freedom of Information response – click here The post Quebec Patient Had 362 Doctor Appointments in a Single Year appeared first on SecondStreet.Org.Read More
