The US government is protecting the real Lockerbie bomber, who was ordered to plant explosives on the infamous Pan Am fight in 1988 in an act of terror that was ordered by Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini and not Muammar Gaddafi, it has been claimed.

Douglas Boyd, author of Lockerbie: The Truth, writes that the real bomber is now working at a school in the US under the name Basel Bushnaq.

The claim brings to light questions about the original version of events involving Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi, who told police he had crashed the jet on the orders of the Libyan dictator.

Gadaffi admitted liability in 2003 and was ordered to pay £1.7billion compensation for the horrendous act, which has been subbed Britain’s worst terrorist attack that killed all 270 people on board.
