Two men were charged on the weekend with impaired operation of stolen vehicles, prompting London police to ask the public to call 911 if they see a driver they suspect to be drunk or high on drugs.

Police made the appeal after a stolen moving truck was abandoned Sunday morning on the front lawn of the men’s mission at 459 York St.

Officers identified a suspect after arriving at about 10 a.m. and located him a short distance from the mission. He was arrested for impaired operation after showing signs of being impaired by drugs, police said.

Police determined the eight-metre-long truck was stolen Saturday. The truck had damage to the driver’s side but did not crash into the Mission Services building.
