A RECENT upgrade at an expat’s bar in Spain has been turning heads this year.
Queenz bar, in Sitges, has installed open-mouth urinals, with one perfectly synced to appear as that of of US president Donald Trump.
Half of Trump’s face, meanwhile, has been photo-shopped into a drag queen version of the notoriously anti-LGBT leader.
The installation is the brainchild of bar owner and Dutch expat Dick Van den Bogaard, who this year will be celebrating ten years of Queenz.
He told the Olive Press: “We originally had just a plain photo of Trump two years ago, I put it on Facebook and it had more than 25,000 likes in just 24 hours.
“Then an American guy made a video featuring the toilet and it has had more than 20 million views.”
He added: “We decided to make half of Trump’s face like a drag queen this year after he banned transgender people from the military in the US.
“It’s just a small way we can get revenge on him for his anti-LGBT track record.”
Trump had promised to move the Republicans in a more pro-LGBTQ+ direction but his first year saw several attacks on the community.
He has been the main driver behind banning transgender people from serving in the military and refused to recognise pride month last year.
Sitges is a beach resort 40 minutes west of Barcelona and is hugely popular with the LGBTQ+ community.
