
As Global News reports, the trial concluded in Dartmouth, NS, today, where the Crown told the judge that it wouldn’t submit any evidence in the matter. The defence moved for the charge to be dismissed, and the judge granted it.
Last October, Smith was charged in relation to an alleged assault dating back to December 2017. Back in February of this year, he pleaded not guilty. Smith had stepped away from his role at Trailer Park Boys Incorporated, which handles the business operations related to the TV franchise, in light of the allegations.
“The court has dismissed the charge against Michael Smith, concluding the legal proceedings that began in October 2025 regarding an allegation dating to December 2017,” the company said in a statement sent to Exclaim! via email. “Now that he is cleared of this matter, Mike is resuming his responsibilities with Trailer Park Boys Incorporated. The company will provide no further comment regarding the concluded proceedings.”
